Take a road trip

Even Christianity, when made as a law unto itself, becomes no better than any other man made religion. In fact, Christianity was never meant to become a perfect religion or a religion at all. Instead, the beauty of the true Christian message is that it points beyond itself unto the person of Jesus. It is at it's best only a beacon; an arrow pointing the seeker into a real encounter with the Present Day Person of Jesus.
If Christianity becomes an end in itself, it has failed in its mission. Its true fulfillment only comes in presenting the seeker to Jesus. If the creeds and practices stop at themselves, we have nothing more than another set of rules, regulations and man's failed religious thinking.
Jesus himself says in the Gospel of John 5:39-40, "You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life."
Don't stare at the road map and assume you have been to the land it portrays. Get in the car and drive there.
