In the Name of Jesus?

If we say our words, our prayers and our preaching “In Jesus name,” we are essentially saying, we are speaking on his behalf. We are speaking as ambassadors or representatives forth showing his thoughts, his judgments or his decrees. 

Speaking “In the name of Jesus” is not so much an indication of spiritual power or divine endorsement as much as it is a responsibility and a sobering commission to know him as he is, not as we imagine him or shape him to suit our own prejudices and personal preferences.
